Savorfull Box: August 2012

Time for a (long) overdue post… another Savorfull box! After going through all the goodies in the June and July boxes, I couldn’t wait to dig into this one. But fortunately (or unfortunately, as this probably means good things…) it was a very busy month and I’m just getting around to sharing with you now. No worries: any time you decide to sign up for a Savorfull subscription, you are guaranteed delicious, wholesome, allergen-free* treats delivered straight to your door!

*ALL Savorfull box contents are free of gluten, dairy, and nuts. They may be free of additional allergens as well, please see packaging for full details.

First I pulled out not one, but two varieties of Lucy’s cookies. These wholesome cookies and vegan and gluten-free, as well as nut-free and non-GMO. All natural and wholesome – that’s my kind of cookies. I’ve tried a few flavors before and can’t wait to taste the Gingersnap and Maple Bliss. I bet either kind crumbled on top of a pumpkin mousse would be delish.

The Gluten Free Bar with its short list of wholesome, natural ingredients really seems to epitomize what Savorfull stands for. Will be using this for pre-workout fuel soon!

Pacific Natural Foods Organic Free Range Chicken Broth is a product I know and love. Love having some more of it in my pantry! It is the perfect base for many of my soups, chilis and stews.

Crunchmaster crackers are a favorite among my gluten-free buddies. Now I know why – so tasty! Plus I love that they are low in sodium and packed with extra nutritious ingredients like quinoa and amaranth.

And for something a little different… a cookbook! All about soy. I’m all for a little soy in my diet, as long as it’s non-GMO and eaten in moderation (just like any good thing.) This book has tons of interesting recipes using a variety of soy products, like tofu, edamame, soy milk, and soy flour (whoo hoo! I will finally open the bag I bought… a long time ago.)

Organized by recipe type AND soy ingredient, this book presents wonderful ideas for how to incorporate good quality, high protein soy into your everyday recipes.

And I’m already looking forward to the next one!

Disclosure: the Savorfull box was supplied to me free of charge, but all opinions are my own.
