Easy Wasabi-Peasy Tuna

Some of the most delicious things are the simplest. This is so simple, there’s no recipe needed – I promise! My friend gave me the great idea of using crushed wasabi peas to create a crust for pan-seared tuna. I couldn’t wait to try it. Wow, totally yum! All you need to do is pulse your peas a few times in the food processor, put them on a plate and dip your tuna. Heat a griddle over high heat with a little olive oil, and cook the tuna for a few minutes on each side, leaving it a little bit rare in the middle. The only improvements I might make for company-worthy presentation are maybe giving the fish another quick toss in wasabi peas after coming off the grill (to show some of the bright green color, and extra-extra crunch) and a drizzel of reduced-soy sauce. And without those extra steps? It’s still probably my favorite new quick weeknight meal.

Great dish! I’ve seen similar dishes at restaurants and never got around to making it at home. So glad it worked well for you! I’ll have to make this soon 🙂

You are SO queen of the crust. I love wasabi peas, but they make my nose run. Does this do the same?

really, I didn’t think they were that spicy. I think cooking must tone it down a bit. I would actually like it a bit spicier – another good reason to sprinkle some extra crushed peas on at the end!
