Are You Ready For Some Football SNACKS?

To be honest, I might just be snackin’ on leftover cake come Superbowl time. Because it’s the same day as my baby shower! Which means I’ll be 35 weeks pregnant. Which translates to, time really does fly.

But should you require a little more sustenance and want to get it in a healthier way, I highly suggest you hit up your nearest newsstand for these two glossy covers:

Supernbowl Snacks by Cara Lyons @Carascravings

’cause I’m featuring a few of my favorite healthy snacks in both!

Clean Eating Magazine Superbowl by Cara Lyons @Carascravings

Let’s start with Clean Eating. Here, you can count on wholesome, natural ingredients coming together for simple, delicious, dude-approved fare. I’ve health-i-fied your favorites like Buffalo Chicken Tenders and Meatball Sliders, and pulled the flavors of a classic steak ‘n cheese into an unbelievably creamy, but guilt-free, Philly Cheesesteak Dip. You’ll also get potato skins loaded with hearty tex-med ingredients, and grilled quesadillas stuffed with cheesy shrimp and artichokes. And what’s a party without dessert? I’ve got you (chocolate) covered with Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Bites.

For a sneak peak, check out the bonus recipe for Bite-Size BBQ Chicken Pizzas over at CleanEatingMag.com.

Simply Gluten Free Superbowl by Cara's Cravings

And for guaranteed gluten-free goodness, pick up Simply Gluten Free for my Mexican Chicken Polenta Pizzas and Smoked Gouda & Spinach “Mac ‘n Cheese” Bites. Fun enough for a gal but just as dude-worthy too, I promise (I tested.) By the way… if you haven’t heard, Simply Gluten Free is BRAND NEW and was the highest selling gluten and allergen-free magazine at Whole Foods in January! Things are just getting better and better, and I look forward to contributing a couple new recipes for each issue.

When it comes to the Superbowl, are you all about the game, or the snacks? Or perhaps just the commercials? Gotta love ’em!

I have to admit that normally I am all about the snacks. We usually host the party here and I always put out all of my favorite treats. However, this year, because my hometown team (SF) is in the SuperBowl, I will be way into the game. I was born and raised as a die-hard Forty-Niner Fan so I will be cheering them on for sure this year!. 😀
I love your spreads in both magazines!! You are rocking it, lady. Great Job!

Very cool! We don’t have TV (crazy, right?) and my husband is working night shift so we probably wont be doing anything super bowl-ish. But your recipes look awesome! I love Clean Eating Magazine, it is great to see you in there 🙂

Congrats on the two features! I may have missed it in previous posts, but do you take a prenatal vitamin? If so, which one do you recommend? Thanks
