KIND Healthy Grains Review & {GIVEAWAY!}

It happens just about every day as I scroll through my Google reader.

Apple Cinnamon Granola. Pumpkin Maple Spice Granola. Raw Vanilla Fig Granola.

Why am I the only one not making granola? Especially granola that is lower in sugar and fat and more wholesome than anything I can find on a grocery store shelf. The truth is, I don’t eat much granola. The store-bought stuff is synonymous with danger, my friends (because it’s hard to find one with a nutritional profile I can really feel good about, and I have a habit of treating granola the same way I would crack.) And I guess I’m just too lazy to make my own. Spending three days and $$$’s worth of ingredients on vegan, naturally-sweetened Halloween candy? Sign me up. But throw me something simple and I’ll find a way to put it off.

But things are changin’ around here. Now I think I can have (buy) my granola and eat it too. The only caveat is that it’s not actually called granola. Which is fine, because it is arguably more healthy than anything else bearing that label.

Enter KIND Healthy Grains, a line of wholesome whole-grain clusters from the people that brought you the popular KIND snack bars. The short list of ingredients on each package contains healthy grains that go far beyond oats: we’re talking amaranth, quinoa, millet, chia and flax, my friends. Each naturally-sweetened flavor contains less sugar per serving than I typically see in other granolas (7gm or less.) And although I  have yet to learn the concept of measuring out my portion and walking away from the bag (as opposed to standing at the counter with my hand in it) I feel a little less guilty knowing I’m fueling myself with all this good stuff.

KIND Healthy Grains is available in six delicious flavors, each boasting some awesome nutritional benefits:

If the Peanut Butter Whole Grain Clusters and Dark Chocolate Cranberry Clusters are any indication of the remaining flavors, I can guarantee they won’t stick around much longer. These flavors both had exactly the delicious taste and wholesome, big crunch factor I’m after – with the added bonus of being a healthy, gluten-free, good-for-you snack.

Need another reason to feel good about KIND? When you are KIND to your body, you are also supporting a mission to be KIND to the world. KIND prides itself on its choice to be a sustainable and socially impactful company. KIND regularly sponsors “missions” challenging KIND people like yourself to do good things, such as delivering diapers to impoverished families, providing nutritious meals to families facing hunger, and planting sustainable gardens at deserving schools.

Would you like to try KIND Healthy Grains?

KIND will award THREE readers with a full-size bag of Healthy Grains (your choice of flavor) plus an additional 10 on-the-go 1.5 oz. pouches of KIND Oats & Honey Clusters with Toasted Coconut.

To enter, just tell me leave a comment telling me which flavor you’d pick!

For additional entries, you may share this post on Facebook and/or Twitter. Please tag Cara’s Cravings and KIND Healthy Snacks on Facebook and mention @carascravings and @KINDSnacks on Twitter. Leave a separate comment telling me you did so.

The giveaway will close on October 27th, 2012, and 11:59pm EST. Winners will be chosen via random number generator and contacted by email. If winner does not respond within 3 days, I reserve the right to choose another winner. No purchase necessary.

Disclosure: I was provided with KIND Healthy Grains in six flavors to review. Opinions are, of course, my own.

    How could you ask us to choose just one to try? They all looks so good! But , if I had to narrow it down it would have to be either the Oats and Honey with Tosated Coconut or the Cinnamon Oat Custers.
