Charles River Food Truck Festival – Special Boston-area Giveaway!

Did you catch last Sunday’s recap about the Worcester Food Truck Festival?

Well, guess who else did: the Food Truck Festival of New England people themselves 🙂 This summer and fall, they are bringing the food trucks all over New England – you can catch the full schedule here. Their marketing team was kind enough to invite me to next weekend’s festival over by the Charles River in Brighton, but unfortunately I will be out of town. (Well not so unfortunately – I’m heading down to Florida to visit some gal pals – so excited about that!) But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go. Actually, if you’re anywhere nearby, you totally should! The Charles River Food Truck Festival is shaping up to be even more delicious than the one I went to, with 24 trucks (and counting!), children’s activities, 10 sampling tables, discounted boat rentals from Paddle Boston and live entertainment. And, you may even get a little sumthin’ for free… yup, there are free meals for THREE of you who enter this giveaway 🙂

All you need to do is leave a comment telling me about the best thing you ever ate from a food truck, and I’ll pick three winners at random on Tuesday night. Because I am heading out of town on Thursday morning, I will need you to respond as quickly as possible! Then, I’ll put you in touch the the marketing team who will arrange your prize, which will be a free meal at one of the following food trucks:

Gabi’s Smoke Shack – Pulled Pork Sandwiches & Tacos, Pulled Chicken Sandwiches & Tacos, BBW Bowls
Compliments Food Truck – Sea You in a Bit (Tuna Melt), We Work Well Together (Sliders), Something Special (Sweet Potato & French Fry Combo), You’re So Fresh (Local Fried Veggie Sampler), Vegetarian, Vegan, & Gluten-Free Options
Boston Super Dog – super hot dogs, duh!
Lobsta Love – lobster rolls, sliders, quesadillas, mac ‘n cheese
Grilled Cheese Nation – classic to upscale grilled cheeses
Dining Car (I just checked out their menu online – super gourmet, you don’t wanna miss it!)
Chubby Chickpea – oooh, I smell falafel! Ben and I commented that was missing from the Worcester event 🙁
Frozen Hoagies – Ice Cream Sandwiches, Bowls of Ice Cream, Cookies
Shuckin’ Truck – a traveling raw bar!

So, your best food truck meal – what is it?

I don’t get to eat out of food trucks much, but probably the best thing I ever had was the rosemary french fries from Clover’s food truck! It might’ve been also cuz I was hungry! 😛

Oh. That’s tough! This summer I had Tikki Masala in a burrito from a food truck called Curry Up Now. I also had a fab grilled cheese with slivers of green apple that was excellent. Food trucks are the bomb!

Even though I lived in Boston for four years, I never purchased food from a food truck…it was just before they got huge. Although I did get an awesome sample of wasabi flavored ice cream from a food truck once! Awesome giveaway, I need an excuse to visit Boston lol

I’m a really big fan of the Double Awesome from Mei Mei Street Truck. I’ve yet to have anything from them I didn’t adore.

The noodle salad at Bon Me, since that’s the only thing I have gotten off of a food truck this year. And it was AWESOME!

Had a delicious brisket BBQ sandwich just north of DC. As a Georgia guy, I’m partial to the pulled pork, but the brisket was surprisingly tasty.

My food truck experience is very limited, but I remember having delicious cheese fries from a food truck while visiting my friend at college in Rochester! A food truck festival is perfect for me to try to taste a few – and I’ve heard great things about Frozen Hoagies.

Beak & Skiff Orchard in LaFayette New York serves up devine apple fritters from a small trailer during apple picking season. Served warm with a generous sprinkling of cinnamon sugar. DELISH!
