Sunday Funday: #RBKFITBLOG Recap

If Since you follow me on Twitter, you’re probably wondering what that crazy hashtag is all about. Oh, let’s see, I only used it like 60 times in the course of the day. And here’s just a smidge of what I had to say.

If you’re nosy like me and feel like most hashtags are inside jokes for the cool kids, don’t worry, I’m about to let you in.

But first let’s back it up and talk about FitFluential for a sec. Do you know about FitFluential? It’s a pretty genius idea of pretty awesome lady to connect top health and fitness with the best brands in the industry to develop long-standing, mutually beneficial partnerships.

FitFluential has a home for everyone, and the more people join in, the more opportunities we’ll have!

If nothing else, I relish the love and support I get from my FitFluenital family and learning from where they are in their fitness journeys. But I’m not gonna lie. The opportunities are great too. And last week I got to experience my first big one. Along with 16 other healthy-living geared bloggers, I got to visit the Reebok headquarters in Canton, MA for a day of fun, learning, and collaborating.

The fun started with a visit from the Reebok fairy.

I was a little nervous to dive inside. You see, I’m extremely awkwardly shaped (no one believes me) and have the hardest time finding comfortable workout gear.

No worries. It’s like a little birdie told her my exact measurements and favorite colors. Inside the box were two different pairs of capris, a built-in-bra tank, sports bra, t-shirt, zip-up hoodie, sneakers, socks, a backpack, and a water bottle. You think they wanted us to wear their gear or something?

First order of business upon arrival was to dive into Crossfit class.

Why Crossfit? Well, you remember back in the 80’s when people, especially women, thought of fitness we automatically thought STEP and REEBOK? (If you didn’t, your mama sure did.) Well, Reebok has a goal of getting back on the brain as THE FITNESS BRAND and this time they have partnered with Crossfit to do it. All over the country, Crossfit is inspiring people of all ages and abilities to embrace a kind of fitness that revolves around strength, functionality, and teamwork. In other words, Crossfit is the perfect vehicle for Reebok to market their position as the #1 brand in fitness.

Sidenote: as a fitness enthusiast, it’s my first priority to be comfortable while doing it. That means no too-tight waist bands or saggy tops, no hairs falling on my face and no less-than-cushy socks. An extremely close second is looking cute. Reebok’s newest apparel lines achieve both – and I honestly didn’t anticipate saying that, given my history of less-than-stellar fitting workout gear.

After three rounds of sprints, kettlebell swings, and pullups, it was back to the classroom, so to speak. Where – surprise! – more goodies awaited us. Hello, second set of sneakers, a third style of capris, shorts, and another bra tank. All snuggled up in a drawstring backpack. Hey, it’s nice to be spoiled every so often!

If you’re wondering why we needed two pairs of sneakers, you’re not alone. Over the next couple hours we learned about the design and technology of Reebok’s various styles on the market.

And I’m happy to share that with you… a little bit later. I think *I* finally understand why bloggers tend to break up event recaps into various posts. Surely I can’t hold your attention much longer… so if you’re still here, sit tight, and we’ll get back to this soon!
