{GIVEAWAY!} Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil

What did you guys think of my Skillet Glazed Corn with Ginger, Lime and Coconut? It’s so good, I truly hope it sent some of you immediately running out for coconut oil, excited about a new product to try. Or, maybe it re-inspired others with a new idea for that jar you’ve had sitting around. But if you don’t fall into either of those categories, this very special giveaway post is all about you! (Of course, if you’re already a coconut oil convert, you can still play – and I encourage you to do so!)

Tropical Traditions has offered to give one lucky reader a 32oz jar of Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil. That’s the same fabulous stuff I used in my corn recipe. Trust me, you’re gonna love it! This is a big jar, too; a $30 value to be exact. If you’re stumped on other ways to use it, I’ve got you covered. I’ve got lots of fun coconut oil recipes, like Blueberry Coffee Cake, Sugar-Free Graham Crackers, and Vanilla-Scented Buttercup and Kale Stew with Tahini (oh man, I can’t wait till the weather cools down again – this is by far one of my favorite stews!)

Of course, there’s always the Tropical Traditions Recipe Index to help you out too.You can also use your coconut oil in one of my latest Clean Eating Magazine recipes: my Chocolate Raspberry Macaroon Tart. I swear, it’s as good as it looks, and a whole lot healthier. (And because of that, I can’t help but link it up to Amy’s Slightly Indulgent Tuesdays!)

Click here to get the recipe!

I’m sure some of you already have great ideas for cooking and baking with coconut oil, and I’m inviting you to share these with everyone else in a link roundup below (of course, that will earn you an extra entry for the giveaway! Naturally, if you’re going to get some coconut oil, you might as well stock up on some other healthy coconut pantry items, like unsweetened shredded coconut (you’ve seen it in my Mocha Coconut FraPROccino!) and coconut flour (you won’t believe how much protein and fiber it has compared to other flours.)

So, let’s get you some entries. Here are all of the things you can do to enter; just make sure to leave a separate comment about each one.

1) Leave a comment telling my why you’d like to win this coconut oil giveaway
2) Follow Tropical Traditions on Twitter @TropTraditions
3) Like Tropical Traditions on Facebook
4) Link up a recipe using coconut oil, coconut flour, or unsweetened shredded coconut (Mandatory: provide a link to your actual post, not your homepage AND be sure that your post contains a link to this one.)
5) Say “I like it!” to this post using StumbleUpon
6) Share a link to this giveaway on Twitter, mentioning @carascravings and @troptraditions
7) Share a link to this giveaway on Facebook

The giveaway is open to residents of the US and Canada. Contest will end on Friday,  September 2nd at 12:00om EST and a winner will be chosen by a random number generator.

I want to win this giveaway because I use coconut oil ALL THE TIME–and not just for cooking. It's a great facial moisturizer, it's our favorite hot massage oil, and it makes certain bed time activities a lot more tasty ;) But as for food reasons…one of my husband's favorite simple combos is chicken rubbed with coconut oil and cinnamon!

I would really love to win this coconut oil because I am really new to all this and trying to get healthy.  I am overweight and have lots of health problems including hypertension, hypoglycemia, fibromyalgia, and lots of lipomas on my body.  I am changing my diet so I can be around for my 4 children.  I have recently gone gluten free and would love to add coconut oil to my diet but unfortunately there is nowhere near me who sells it.  I would really love the opportunity to try it for myself and my family.

I really love coconut oil, especially roasting veggies in it. It adds this subtle sweetness that you can't get with any other oil. Love. Also, I really do plan on making your corn recipe. It sounded divine. :)

Aside from roasting veggies, I've also used coconut oil to make these vegan Jamaican veggie hand pies. The dough was hard to work with but they tasted really incredible (definitely due to the coconut oil!). Here is the link: http://blog.healthyandsane.com/2011/06/dinner-party-vegan-style/

My husband and I are both 45 and trying to live a healthier lifestyle, we've started running, taking vitamins, eating more  fruits and veggies and I've read a lot of good things about coconut oil–in fact  I now fear most other oils.  I would love to win some coconut oil it's at the top of my must have list.kakihararocks@gmail.com

I use a tablespoon a day for my thyroid.  Believe it or not it helps me loose weight, feel more energized and more vibrant.   I homeschool three kids and this is very important to me.  I need to feel good to do a good job.  It would help my finances greatly to get some free.  Thank you.

Hi Cara,Thanks for redirecting me … is this the right place to enter?  If not, please let me know, k?  Thanks!Ok, like I said on Facebook, I'm recovering from long term illness and healthy food is critical to healing and strength.  I LOVE this coconut oil but haven't been able to pay for it for several years.  I don't know if your giveaway winner will be selected by random drawing or by words they say … but all I can say is I'd love to win.  I used to eat this oil by the spoonfuls and make healthy carob or chocolate refrigerator fudge. I also put it in my smoothies!  Thanks, Lindy

Chocolate Macaroon Raspberry Tart with my new Tropical Traditions oil sounds pretty good. I can't believe how fast it got here. I got the notice from them Friday and it was on my doorstep Saturday. I was getting tired of the brand of coconut oil I've been using the last 3 years and was going to (really) order up some Tropical Traditions next time. How great of you to send me one to play with. Thanks again.
